I landed near Taipei and Sherry and
her cousin picked me up at the airport. She arranged for an apartment of
her friend for me to stay at.

My first picture in Taiwan. Sherry on her sister Irene on the bus from the
airport.

After dropping my stuff at the apartment we met up with Sherry's friend
Martha (in the pink) and took the MRT north to Tamsui. We got some lunch.
I had some really good food in Taiwan and this was not some of it.

Then Sherry and her friends bought me a beverage.

We then took a little boat up the last few miles of the river to the
northern coast. Weeeeeeee.

Some fisherman on the bulkhead at fisherman's wharf.

Fisherman's Warf and Lover's Bridge.

It was really hot and humid so we moved slowly. Something was funny, but I
don't quite remember what.

It was so hot we went Yangmingshan park up in the mountains surrounding
Taipei to cool off. It was very nice. Here is a married couple taking
pictures. White isn't the tradition wedding color because it symbolizes
death. Many young couples are throwing that idea to the wind and following
western traditions.

We had such a good time Sherry broke her purse.
A Taipei street near where I was staying.

Taipei 101, the worlds tallest building. Not far from where I was staying.

A market near my apartment.

The next day Sherry was sick so I hung out with Martha. She took me to
Chiang Kaishek memorial. Here I am standing at the top of the stairs of it
looking at the national concert hall and theater.

Me in front of the memorial.

Some fruits for sale on the sidewalk. I'm not sure what those in the
middle are.

That afternoon Martha took me to a 3 day concert festival called Ho-Hai-Yan.
It took place on Fulung Beach on the NE coast.

At the other end of the beach was a temple and nice looking mountain.

Me with a free balloon that I got.

Before good bands started people played in the water.

They also relaxed in the sand.

There was lots of food and drink to be had. I bought a Taiwan beer from a
Taiwan girl.

We met up with some of Martha's friends. Here is me with Martha, one of
the friends, and my Taiwan Beer.

Between sets there were Chinese fireworks.

Back in Taipei, the Taipei 101 again.

Those cool street lights I was talking about.
